Lately, Xolo continues to be aggressively marketing its devices, especially on television, with promotional banners and ads appearing on primetime. Now, Xolo is going to be launching its first 4G smartphone with Bharti Airtel, in accordance with reports in the Times during the India. Xolo is the first Indian brand to provide a time-division duplex long term evolution (TD-LTE) smartphone in India, as shipments will start at the end from the month.
Xolo has plans to launch a series of 4G devices at different price ranges, supporting TD-LTE technology, in 2014. Furthermore, visit this also wants to ship over half one million devices this quarter alone, since it predicts that sales for 4G devices will probably be competitive by 2015. As previously reported, currently, Bharti Airtel is definitely the only network in India by using a 4G LTE network, and even then, it’s only in select cities. Furthermore, Bharti Airtel recently signed an agreement with Reliance Jio for sharing network infrastructure in order to prevent duplication.
Personally, I would like to eventually see 4G LTE technology available across India. Only then would I consider purchasing a 4G LTE device. As it currently stands, with both tool and network availability limitations, consumers don’t look like that considering making the switch. What I’ve also realized is together with most subscribers being content on either a 2G or 3G network, some aren’t aware that 4G can be found in select cities, or perhaps offered at all. Clearly, consumers should be informed to make a decision, and so i really don’t think that the telecom operators make much of an endeavor to tell them.
Through the same token, besides network availability issues, there’s also an absence of 4G devices obtainable in the Indian market. In the event you enter your nearby bazaar or market, they just don’t carry 4G devices. You typically will need to go to the high-end departmental stores, and already you know you’ll be paying reasonably limited because you’re buying something m0bi1e the mall, not your community.
However, with Xolo bundling its 4G smartphone with Bharti Airtel, I’m sure its stores will soon start carrying the devices, too. At the very least they’ll be an alternative for purchasing a 4G device. What exactly can this mean for current subscribers and new business? More than likely, you will see competitive pricing, aligned similarly between both operators. However, the greatest gain is going to be for Reliance Jio, while they will get access to Bharti Airtel’s 4G LTE network.
Reliance Jio and the other operator, Aircel , are presently seeking to secure second place with 4G LTE offerings across India, and from now on with this particular arrangement, clearly, Reliance Jio is with the lead. However, there were reports of poor quality service on Bharti Airtel’s existing 4G LTE network, and as a result, this might also reflect negatively on Reliance Jio too. In addition to this arrangement, it would be great to find out both operators expanding in various regions across India, again to prevent overlap and duplication. By consolidating expansion into mutually exclusive areas, both operators still stand to benefit and gain from the complete arrangement.
